Tommie Smith & John Carlos are LEGENDS in Black History and Sports History. In the 1968 Olympics, they raised their fists wearing black gloves on the medal stand to make a statement of Black Pride, Power and Defiance against racism and discrimination. They were vilified for decades afterwards, experiencing death threats and expulsion. Their stance not only created 1 of the most iconic sports images of all time, but has inspired generations of athletes to use their platform for social justice and empowerment. We salute Tommie Smith & John Carlos for their courage, sacrifice and boldness. They are definitely Actively Black!
