In the 1968 Olympics, they raised their fists wearing black gloves on the medal stand to make a statement of Black Pride, Power and Defiance against racism and discrimination. They were vilified for decades afterwards, experiencing death threats and expulsion. Their stance not only created 1 of the most iconic sports images of all time, but has inspired generations of athletes to use their platform for social justice and empowerment. We salute Tommie Smith & John Carlos for their courage, sacrifice and boldness. They are definitely Actively Black!

I am thrilled with the Tommy Smith and John Carlos tee shirt that I purchased, As expected, it’s fabulous quality! I wasn’t sure whether to get a medium or large - so I got a large to be safe. I’m a woman who wears women’s large. This shirt is too big. But over time it will shrink a little. I will enjoy wearing it, and hopefully it will spark conversations when people take a look at it.
